Premier interior landscaping and office plant supplier Fosters Breathing Space can help reduce office temperature and humidity levels through their bespoke planted office displays.
The Stafford based office plant specialists have been working with some of the UK’s most well known companies by supplying them with stylish office plant displays in an effort to help facilities managers’ combat potential or existing temperature issues.
There have been numerous studies that have looked into office plants and how they can regulate temperature and humidity levels in indoor climates and in 1994, Peter Costa, won the Heating and Ventilation Award for his research into the economic and technical effects office plants can have on energy consumption.
Costa’s study found that for most of his participants the utilisation of office plants was very constructive and also provided significant savings on energy costs. The reason for this, he found, was because the office plants absorbed heat thus reducing the need for participants to use expensive air conditioning systems.
Speaking on behalf on Fosters Breathing Space, Managing Director, Daniel Foster commented;
“The natural moisture found in office plants absorbs and consumes any extra heat in the air thus lowering the ambient temperature in a room. The clever use of planted office displays in office and business premises, including showrooms and hotels can actively regulate temperature and humidity levels saving companies money on energy bills.”
He continued;
“Not only do office plants make excellent temperature monitors but they are also excellent air filters, extracting harmful gases found in indoor climates. Combined with their ability to make employees and clients feel better, office plants could definitely be the breath of fresh air your office is lacking.”
