Fosters Breathing Space Stand Up for Artificial Office Plants

Leading interior landscaping company Fosters Breathing Space are standing up for artificial office plants despite being premier suppliers of real office plants and planted office displays.

The company which specialises in the provision of interior landscaping services to UK businesses has over 25 years of experience working with real office plants and foliage; yet continue to provide a large selection of artificial plants for those businesses for which living office plants are not viable.

Daniel Foster, Managing Director of the Stafford based company had this to say;

“Artificial plants have received a lot of criticism over the years due to their cost and unrealistic appearance but contemporary artificial plants deserve more credit. The plastic plants we provide are a great alternative to the real thing and advancements in their production mean that they mimic real office plants completely.”

Like all living things real office plants need certain conditions in order to survive, conditions which are not always achievable within contemporary office spaces. Issues relating to temperature, humidity and lighting often result in the deterioration of planted office displays and often the plants die.

Whilst landscaping experts such as Breathing Space are experienced horticulturists who will select a range of office plants that are suitable for the environment there are times when artificial plants are the only solution.

Daniel Foster explains;

“Artificial plants can be used in seemingly intolerable conditions where access may be limited or the temperature and humidity is to aggressive for real foliage. Swimming pools are one such environment whereby the high humidity levels together with high chlorine levels in the air mean that living plants simply do not do well. Fake plants can provide the visual aesthetics required whilst requiring little maintenance and interference from the facilities manager.”

The technology used to produce and manufacture fake or plastic plants has also advanced making the appearance of artificial plants much more realistic to both the eye and touch. With companies like Fosters Breathing Space bringing forward more contemporary collections of artificial office plants there benefits are becoming more apparent for modern business owners.

The initial cost of artificial plants may be much more than the real thing but should you require a long lasting green solution that will not entail much maintenance then artificial plants could be just the ticket. Daniel Foster concluded;

“There is no doubt that real living office plants are in a class of their own in terms of benefits but this does not mean that artificial plants should be ignored. Fake plants have many benefits in their own right and can make all the difference in office climates where the conditions are not suitable for real office plants.”
